Position Overview:
Ontario Heroes is seeking a dynamic and experienced Interim CEO to lead our organization during a six-month period from July to December 2024. This role involves coordinating daily operations, managing service requests, and fostering relationships with stakeholders, colleges, placement students, funders, and government entities. The Interim CEO will also assist with proposals and funding applications and oversee the organization of Heroes Fest 2024, representing Ontario Heroes at various events. The Interim CEO will also work closely with the Executive Board and Chair to plan and execute activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily organizational operations in the absence of the CEO.
- Coordinate with service requests and ensure timely and effective responses.
- Develop and maintain strong public relations with stakeholders, colleges, placement students, funders, and government agencies.
- Assist in drafting proposals and funding applications.
- Lead the planning and execution of Heroes Fest 2024.
- Attend and represent Ontario Heroes at events and meetings.
- Work with the Executive Board and Chair to plan and execute organizational activities.
- Conduct monthly meetings with the Board to discuss progress and strategies.
- Ensure continuity and stability within the organization during the interim period.
Qualifications:
- Must be a member of Ontario Heroes with a health, legal, or social services background.
- Demonstrated involvement in Ontario Heroes’ activities.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and public relations abilities.
- Experience in managing organizational operations and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven track record in proposal writing and securing funding.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information:
This is a volunteer position, not paid. The role can be performed virtually or at our office in Mississauga, with a commitment of 7 hours weekly.
