Ontario Heroes Child, Adolescent and Family Services

Ontario Heroes is offering free counselling from the comfort of your home by professionals who are dedicated to bringing to wellness children, teens, and families who are struggling with mental health and developmental challenges.  Our service population is 6-18 years of age. Services offered may involve brief solution focused therapy, person centered or external referral.

Counselling offered is online only and will be free, this is inclusive of initial assessment and one follow-up session. Each session may consist of 45-50 min therapy. Should further intervention be required the client may be offered a referral or continue with the therapist for a nominal fee.

OUR SERVICES

Presentations:

  • Youth focused but open to all. Presentations consist of psychoeducation on coping with mental health issues such as stress management; anxiety; depression, behaviour management to name a few. Through understanding our mental health concerns, we are led in many ways to cope with everyday living. Family members are encouraged to participate as they provide an important support network.

Parental support: 

  • Individual or informational in providing parental support.\

Child and Youth:

  • Life skills and coping strategies: peer pressure: conflict resolution; school bullying. 
  • Anxiety, depression, low motivation, self-harm, suicidal thoughts inclusive of substance or electronic misuse.
  • Situational crisis; holistic Crisis plan. Inculturation and acculturation. Behavioural concerns.

As children and youth adjust to changes to family life or structure within a multicultural environment many are faced coping with difficult emotions and situations at home and at school. Reconciling relationships, transitioning from home to independence, living in crisis situations, coping with gender identification and sexual orientation are some of the issues. Ontario Heroes are a family of concerned professionals who may be light, offering a way, a ray of hope and direction to new possibilities and wellness.
